Vocabulary Development

Sublimation (n.): A chemical state wherein one element exists almost simultaneously in 2 contrasting states.

Sublimate (v.) the act of reading the July issue of Vogue intending to be disgusted by society’s insistence that being female matters only if sexually appealing and instead finding the following quote.

“I’m a woman now; really, properly a woman. And I’m doing this thing called life and pulling it off.” (Kate Winslet)

Sublime (n.): Finding inspiration in a most unexpected source, and realizing that your summer of insecurity has only led you to believe more fully in your ability to conquer the world.

Today’s Personality Quiz Says:

Others see you as fresh, lively, charming, amusing, practical, and always interesting; someone who's constantly in the center of attention, but sufficiently well-balanced not to let it go to their head. They also see you as kind, considerate, and understanding; someone who'll always cheer them up and help them out.
Yes. I am a saint. It's a hard row to hoe, full of weeds and weevils, but hoe it I must. In between all this self-sacrifice, I occasionally shake my groove thang. Can you blame me? Really. That's a whole lot of perfection in that paragraph. A girl's gotta cope somehow. Oh yes, I....I will survive....

Am I first? No way...someone must be typing as I am.
I love Kate Winslet. I saw her on an old Oprah a few weeks ago (she was talking about 'Finding Neverland') I love that she is beatiful and real.
I was watching a thing on tv this morning (nice thing about being out of work...morning talk shows! soap operas! anything but reality, please!) about the celeb woman who have found love at/after 40. It was very interesting...especially with 30 right around the corner.
Big huge hugs!

Sublimation has long been one of my favorite processes. Sad, I know but what can I say? Geekcore I guess. And I find it almost scary how the Quiz words so closely match my perception of Glo. I'm thinking this view of you must be real, simply because I can't imagine anyone successfully faking such a persona.

The description does fit how I percieve you, that's funny. I have always liked Cate Winslet because she is so grounded and she refuses to conform to popular body image requirement. Fabulous and beautiful.

I like that commercial Kate Winslet does. You know the one..."I almst drowned at 20..." Tell me you've seen it. I'm dumb and it took me awhile to get it.

I just moved back to the old Idaho so I've been a little detained, but I'm back!

I love that commercial! It inspires me, mostly because I love Kate Winslet and find *her* inspiring.

You guys are sweet, but I'm no saint nor sinner. Just somewhere in between, I guess.

Oh - and Lianne, awesome new pic. Bluths - they got Internet in Idaho? Since when? I gotta write the governor...someone is wasting taxes, I know it! (Just a little channeling my beloved staunch Republican neighbors from the old 'hood.)

It's a crime she hasn't won the Oscar yet. A crime, I tells ya!

Great choice of words. I, for some odd reason, can find myself in some sort of debate or argument almost every day. Knowing more advanced words will help me sound smarter.

I knew I loved Kate when she made such a big fuss about the GQ cover: "Um, those aren't my thighs! My thighs are much bigger than that! Put down your airbrush!" THANK YOU KATE.

Re the quiz: I must agree with the comments above, it's exactly the way you come across. Oddly, I took the same quiz and got the same result, but in my case I think it's only half-true. The second half. The centre of attention bit, not so much. Still (sigh) even half perfect is a proud burden to bear...
