Gratuitous Insight a la Arrested Development

Please watch this show. Just once. It needs an audience this week or it will get cancelled. So, for me or memories or Paris or whatever, set your VCR/Tivo/whatever and watch this show just once. I will miss it so if it goes far away. It makes me laugh.

Now on to Self-Awareness. This week's weekly series (likely to be cancelled a la Arrested Development) is "Things I ponder" - a brief biographical glimpse into my life by way of a completely uninteresting list. Shall we begin?

Insight: I am apparently not exploiting organ donors sufficiently.

Discovery: I don't like yogurt in any variety.

Confusion: I feel compelled to watch Dancing with the Stars, but I never enjoy it.

Rant: Weight Watchers ads. So anti-feminist. Jenny Craig ads. Worse!

Decision: Hair? In light of wallflower-type life, is it time to lose the long locks?

Abandoned love: Stargate SG-1. It's been on life support too long. Let it go, SciFi.

New love: Instant Makeover at BeautyRiot.com

Enduring love: Eloisa James

I watched an episode this week without even being asked.

It's a sigh-kick thing. But *your* weekly series is better. Fewer commercials? No, that's not why. Yours just has better writing.

And fewer commercials.

I love how their last name is mine. It is very rare. I don't know why more people don't watch it. It is really funny. Random, which makes it funny.

I watch it pretty regularly as long as Jr isn't around...not really a kids show, I'd have to say...but it is very funny.

NOOOO! Don't chop the long locks...very drastic! And ya can't paste 'em back on again...believe me, I've wanted too. Hair is not something to be taken lightly...well ok, it's not that serious...I just have some issues left over from my most recent Chop.

See I always want to cut my hair and then I do and I want to grow it back. I have a love hate relationship with my locks and I've done everything to them too, so since they're still there I'm cutting them some slack.

I love that show, but I'm very bad at keeping dates with my television, one of the reasons I stopped watching Spooks. I say, New year, go for the haircut. But, if you have no patience for growing it back out, and you know you'll hate it, then don't do it.

ABC will pick up Arrested Development if Fox lets it go.

You can look very attractive and sheik (sheek?) with a short haircut.

But if you've ever had problems with growing out your hair past a "weird state", i.e., when the hair over your ears most resembles "dog ears", don't do it.

For the past 15 years I've done the grow-it-out, driving me crazy, cut it off, grow-it-out cycle. This past year I've been more accepting of keeping it short, and I just grow it a little until it's a little inconvenient, then get a trim.

I haven't had long hair since I was 22. I'm now 37. So be careful about chopping it too short.

You could try an intermediate cut, one that is shoulder-length. It will be more convenient, but also not take you through any funky-looking phases.

I'm dieting through the HMR program. It's like Weight-Watchers, Nutri-System, and Jenny Craig, but without the annoying ads on tv! In 22 weeks I've lost 30 pounds.

I will have to check out BeautyRiot.com... :)
