Last night. 10:00 pm. My bedroom. Sounds of Tetris and Christmas music filling the air.
Me: Heya, Rusty. Wanna play some Tetris?
Rusty: Sure. Why not? This kidnapping bloggers thing is getting dull.
Me: (shrugging) Just don't talk too much. I'm a bit guy-like in my pursuit of Tetris high scores.
Rusty: Yeah. That's cool.
Rusty: (after 2 hours) So, you gonna blog today?
Me: Can't. Gotta get to level 10. I forgot how hard this is.
Rusty: I'm getting a real blogger next time. Not some wannabe.
Me: That reminds me. I almost did a contest for Christmas. But then I remembered that I only resemble a blogger who once did those things.
Rusty: Crap. I shoulda kidnapped her.
Me: Yo. Creep. You're totally screwin' up my game. Shut up, wouldja?
So, we played the Plug N Play Tetris my amazing sis gave me for Christmas. We played all night. I'm tired now, but I whooped Rusty. Of course, he won the war in that it separated me from blogging duties. But, well..... Hello. My name is Glo. I'm a Tetris addict and have been for almost 20 years.
I'm off to Christmas vacation starting this afternoon. Things I plan to do:
1. Stay up too late talking to family.
2. Play in the snow with my niece.
3. Cuddle the new nephew.
4. Bake something.
5. Laugh outrageously with Cate, who is coming to see what happy insanity the Glo-family has stewed up this very wacky Christmas.
6. Sing Christmas carols.
7. Cry at church on Christmas Day.
8. Go on date with the guy my entire small town has decided is my one true love.
9. Get lots of presents.
10. Get daddy to take me to the movies. Lots.
All right. I may blog once while I'm gone...after the date with my One True, but otherwise -- happy holidays y'all! See you on December 28th!

Bring it on, I say. Bring on the insanity! (And the movies!)
#8 sounds like a setup. Keep an eye out for video cameras.
Will do. On both counts.
I feel the onset of a great vacuum in the Blogoforce.
Or maybe that's just Wilberforce, hyperventilating. "Hey! Use the paper bag!"
"Sorry..."
There I thought I was the only one like that about Tetris. I almost wanted to kill my brother when he got his name onto the high score list.
Enjoy your vacation - that whole list sounds pretty good.
sometimes it takes an entire town to make someone open their eyes and see her one true for who he is.
eh, then again, 'sleepless in seattle' is one of my favorites. i'm a sap.
good luck, but don't buckle under the pressure. enjoy the holiday!
I prefer "French Kiss". :)
Have an awesome time, and good luck with the date. :)
And no, you're not the only Tetris addict out there. I wasted much time in the computer lab in college, playing Tetris when I should have been writing code. :P
Merry Christmas! :)
Ah I too was once addicted to tetris. And you'll have to let us know about the date!
i heard some MIT students once rigged their nintendo to the lighting system in their dorm tower so they could play tetris on a much more grandiose scale: the lights in the rooms were the pieces.
that's addiction.
Oh, the addiction of the games, very dangerous it is. Very dangerous. I've just gone cold turkey on the bugs (of holiday necessity) and suspect I should really delete the link, for my own good. Never again... never...
Have a fabulous festive season. Can't wait to hear about the date.
