By Special Request

As it is Friend Appreciation Week here at My Magnificent Obsession with Self-Awareness, I thought I would grant Jasmine a long-time request. So, here it is....

My bears! I was shocked that Jasmine even knew that one of my favorite days in my whole life involved a set of bear cubs. (I must say here, though, that Jasmine is a terrible speller. When she submitted the request, she had the 'r' in the wrong place and had added an extra 's' and a 't'. Really, they must not teach phonics at her grade school...)

So, my friends, never say I have ever denied you anything you've requested of me. (And are we all proud of the pictures? Thanks to blogger for dumbing it down a bit for me!)

And I thought *I* went to subtle extremes. I hereby step aside and acknowledge you as the true champion.

But how--never mind. Zip.

Truly awe-inspiring.

Sorry. I couldn't resist teasing Jasmine this week. I'll be so bummed if she doesn't stop by for her very own special post.

Ha! I'm proud of you, nice work, finally loading a picture. Now I can cut down my visits to like 30 or 40 per day.

Props to Omar and Jasmine are all well and good, but where are the props for Cate? Huh?

omar said...

Cate, you don't sound very appreciative of your "Why Cate is the greatest friend ever" post.

a cute little thing...

i really dunno how you survive in LA so far... the traffic really gets to me.

glo said...

Traffic is terrifically exhausting. If I didn't live on the outskirts and train to work, I wouldn't have survived. Plus, there's Disneyland. That's hard to beat, IMO.

Omar - thought you'd be impressed that I posted a grainy, useless picture. My computer skills are really improving.

cate- you're great! You get real-world praise...but I will ridicule you here as well if you'd like.

glo said...

Waaaaaa! Omar's site is down again! I am *so* pulling a glo on his praise post.

Crap. Reminder to self to stop using that stupid phrase.

Bill C said...

Why don't you embrace the phrase? Then you could trademark and license it, and go for retroactive royalties.

Easy for me to say with my now G.Lotically Correct Site. Come to think of it, maybe that's why Omar's page is "off." Are lawyers involved yet?

Sarah Cate said...

Down with G.Lotically Correctness! Down!

glo said...

As you know, Omar's lawyers and I are 'tight' in that oh-so-inappropriate sense...

omar said...

In my lawyer's defense, you asked him to objectify you.

Bill C said...

What is that, a legal term? Like, "Will you object if I..." followed by (whatever)?

glo said...

It's a lesser-known point of law. Where is jasmine when we need the exact reference?

And objectify me he did...

BTW - the vole is still once of my favorite comedians.

Is that a bear? Cause it looks like a kitten to me.
Maybe I just need glasses.
Whatever it is, it's cute :)

glo said...

Yes, yes. We've covered that it's a grainy incomprehensible picture. The bear refused to open its eyes wide and smile for the camera. It's also a scan of a Polaroid, so it's not a great picture to start with...

*Sob* I can't work without Omar's blog. How can I think with such tragedy in the world? *Gulp, hiccough*

that furry blur really is very cute, glo. nice bear.

yeah, omarphillips.net is such a tease. it loads for like .0025 seconds and then then the nasty message comes on there. hmph.

It's the moment of bliss that makes it so unbearable! I catch my breath in anticipation, then...

.............nothing.

I can't live like this. I'm an in-the-moment girl. My attention span can't last much longer!

first: i was at the javitz convention center ALL DAY taking a practice multistate exam.

second: i was THRILLED to see a post dedicated to moi.

third: i was dissapointed that we did not get breasts. though, you're right my speleng rily sukz.

fourth: in response to radioactive jam, dude, that was amazingly clever. i'm so impressed.

fifth: where the fuck is omar!? i'm already starting to have seizures from the withdrawl!

cadiz12 said...

jazz, does your boyfriend have anything to do with this?

omar said...

It's not like I vanished, I've still been commenting!

Though I am sorry about the .0025 second tease. It was easier to do it that way than to replace the page all together.

And FYI, they sell an over-the-counter suppository that'll take care of the withdrawal symptoms. Ask your pharmacist.

But come on, this post is about jasmine and br- bears. Not about me.

Re: .0025
So, you probably don't want to know how to stop the "nasty message" from replacing Omar's main page. I mean, there's nothing new to see there anyway. At least, not today. Last night though, right after the NastyPage started stealing Omar's hits, there was a nice new survey, new post about the survey.

Since all that new stuff has been disappeared, there's really no reason to load the normal page. Unless of course that might help the withdrawal. Better than suppositories, though YMMV.

So all I'm saying is, you *can* defeat the NastyPage. I suppose you won't really want to, that's all. Easier to let it go, be passive, all that.

1. I like how that sign on Omar's site has a formal name now.

2. I like how everyone has come to Glo's site to talk about Omar's.

3. I also notice that I'm not helping with #2.

i still don't like the nasty page.

glo. can you do something about this?

is there a customer service representative i can speak with?

omar said...

The "nasty page" is gone! No need to contact customer service.

glo said...

Yay! Let the partying begin...please give warning next time.

And I *love* that everyone comes here to talk about whatever. You're always welcome at Glo's.

I think the information i have read here has been really useful, as i know a few friends who suffermigraine therapyand one thing that has helped a couple of them is a Bioflow. They purchased them at migraine therapy. It hasn't worked for all of them, but has completely eradicated the problem for one of them, and made the migraine therapy much more bearable for the other. It might be worth a look
