Ahem, Ahem. This Blog Needs Your Assistance.

Note from Self-Absorbed, Inc.: The blogger, 1gloriousconundrum, has enlisted the aid of our advertising department to instill some life into her flailing blog. It's probably not good for our rep (Let's face it. This blog was lame before it started.), but as our ad agency's only client, we could hardly turn her away. We have decided to do some research to discover the blog's flaws (as if one reading didn't make it obvious, but what the hell, it's our job). As her remaining 2 readers, I'm afraid the burden falls on you. We apologize deeply for forcing you to contemplate the torture which you have been under these past several months. Remember, it's for the good of humanity that you share your trauma with us. (Okay, maybe not so good for humanity, but it will make our job easier. That's what matters to us and we're human, so we're sticking with the humanity claim.)

Question the First
I was originally attracted to this blog by:
1) a cruel dictator who forced me to view it repeatedly.
2) my crazy psycho roommate/spouse who claimed they would kill the dog if I didn't read it.
3) the blogger, who seems terrifying enough to make my dictator/roommate/spouse seem nice.
4) the witty commentary (as I have obviously suffered a lobotomy).

Question the Second
I continued to read this blog because:
1) I was still under the control of an evil dictator/roommate/spouse.
2) I was fairly sure the blogger was leaving threats under my door.
3) I have OCD and am unable to stop an activity once I have begun it.
4) the witty commentary (as I have obviously suffered a lobotomy).

Question the Third
My favorite part of the blog is:
1) The punishment I avoid by being able to report I read it.
2) The awareness that no small animals will be killed if I continue to read it.
3) The calming of nerves that comes from repeating the same action perpetually.
4) it makes me feel a lot funnier, even after suffering a lobotomy.

Question the Fourth
My least favorite part of the blog is:
1) the electric charges that emit when I say "Man, this is lame!"
2) the incessant whining of the blogger and her insane need for flattery.
3) the fact that I may die if I circle #2.
4) the beginning, middle, and end of each post.
5) the fact that I may be tortured for hours if I circle #4.

Question the Fifth
I would like to see pictures on this blog.
1) For the love of mercy! Will the pain never stop!
2) Only if it will lead to permanent peace in the middle east.
3) I have personally destroyed Hello! to make sure that never happens.
4) As I am unable to stop loading the page, it really doesn't matter.

Questions the Sith
The best way to desribe the blogger is:
1) terrifying
2) pervasive
3) haunting my dreams/nightmares
4) funny if you've had a lobotomy.

Question the Seven
My favorite movie is: (This question has no value for the survey, but we thought we'd give you a break from the vomiting.)
1) Real Genius
2) Emperorer's New Groove
3) Two Weeks Notice
4) Pride and Prejudice
5) Something not listed here as these are obviously the blogger's favorite movies.

Question he Ateth.
How far would you move to escape this blog if we could distract the psychotic influences in your life forcing you to read it?
1) At least 5 miles.
2) Across state lines.
3) Somewhere in the midwest where they don't have computers.
4) I am already planning to change my name and go into hiding for that very purpose.

Question the Tent
I found this survey useful.
1) It kept me from getting murdered by a crazed dictator/roommate/spouse.
2) My medication dosage was reduced slightly by reloading it several times.
3) For what? Cleaning the carpets.
4) It made me feel like the funnest status-post lobotomy victim ever.

Well, that's it. Be aware we'll probably do nothing with the responses. The blogger is rather dead-set on continuing to turn out drivel. But we tried. And our careers were already in the toilet, so what does it matter. Sorry to torture you, though. You seem like you deserve better, but we don't really know you all that well.

Dear S-AI:
Thank you for your interest in our thoughts, opinions, and conditions/states/disorders about which we are aware. Unfortunately we cannot personally respond todsaf*77##-,,,

Foist: 3

Secundus: Strangely enough, also 3

Toid: With mounting concern, 3 again.

Furth: Whew. 1, definitely.

Fiveth: 4. No wait! 2. No! 4. Definitely 4. I think.

Sith: Ironic, all these "dark" choices...5. Only I'm not sure if it's 1+4 or 2+3.

Sven: 1. Unless it's supposed to be one I've actually seen.

Ayuh: 3?

Number Nine: Number Nine: Number Nine:

Teneth: #9.

Again!

First - 3
Second - 3
Third - 3
Fourth - 4 is the closest. My least favorite is the end of each post (see how I turned that into a compliment? I'm good like that)
Fifth - I don't see "Hells yeah!" as an option. I like pictures.
Sith - 4
Seven - 5 (I've never seen 1-4, I don't think)
Ateth - 1
Tent - 2

If there are any answers that are offensive, blame it on the fact that I am without air conditioning right now and it's 90 degrees INSIDE.

Ooh, multiple choice! I always do well with multiple choice.

First: None of the above - like the good Dr. Frankenstein, I was mesmerised by my creation.

Second: I continue to be mesmerised. Or maybe that's just my eyesight getting worse. And #3.

Third: #3.

Fourth: Failure of the blogger to post every day. Over-use of "delete".

Fifth: Only if it means we can finally have that "world's cutest baby" show-down.

Sith: A Dark Lord's Best Apprentice.

Seven: Please see my blog.

Ateth: I'm just here to say that I have already attempted these drastic measures and they don't work!

Tent: As a mild sedative. My doctor refuses to give me a new Valium prescription.

Jam- thanks for reponse and funny voices. We always appreciate cartoon impressions.

sam - sorry your tearful, but you know what this blog can do to you. Actually, you don't. I suppose I'd better put a disclaimer on it somewhere. Let me know what happens with Omar's lawyer.

omar - you are a jinx of electronics.

cate- once again, I apologize for the delete. It needed to be removed from the queue. I will e-mail all posts to you directly from here on out.

This is excellent data! The fact that I have 4 readers has surpassed my wildest dreams! I will be sure to print a report.

omar said...

And btw, I wanted to note that I am refraining from making any inappropriate comments about the wet t-shirt contest I heard that you and scroob are having.

Because I'm respectful.

HEY!! (Unrelated note.) I just noticed that I am visitor 4000 according to your hit counter!! I want a prize!

glo said...

Omigosh! Visitor 4000! Omar, you're a stud! Oh, the pressure to create a prize. Perhaps a post in your praise? I have much of that.

Really, it's a feat considering how slowly that counter has been moving the last several weeks.

(And although you didn't comment, we all know what you were thinking...)

Bill C said...

D'Oh! I was 4001. Earlier.

glo said...

Sorry, Jam. Maybe next time you will get your very own post of praise.

Bill C said...

Okay...all I need to do is get - let's see, 5000 minus 4033, give or take a handful of fingers, so, that would be...um...

More people. Then 4999, then ME! No problem. I'll be there.

Kristin said...

I've been back here a few dozen times...hope it helps to get you to 5000.
Jam, if you're giving handfuls of fingers away, pass 'em over...I'm starving.
Hee.

5th: 4
Sith: 3, but only b/c once she threatened to stalk me.
7th: 5 -- amelie
Ateth: 2, if only i could hop into the General Lee

PDgirl said...

so many questions...

i respectfully decline, as i am a newcomer. since i have a policy on not commenting on things i don't know about, i feel i am justified in postponing my response indefinitely.

but, if it helps, i visited for a second time because of the witty commentary (lobotomy-free, even.)

Jon said...

Look everyone knows that since the lobotomy, I’ve become completely illiterate, so I had someone read this to me and then take several hours to explain it to me. After all that, I came to the conclusion that my problem with your blog is that it doesn’t have nearly enough sock puppets doing interpretive dance to explain the more mundane items to those of us with a separated lobe. Help a kid out, would you? Bring on more sock puppets.

Bill C said...

But...Jon - *you* were supposed to bring the sock puppets.

Or maybe you were supposed to *be* the sock puppets, I can't remember now.

Kristin said...

(By the way Glo, I meant fearful...not tearful! Silly me!)

Making sock puppets sounds fun...I'm so bored! Blogging is mostly out for today since I never know who's watching and what kind of language/pictures will show up (it wouldn't matter at home but at work I'm in the middle of everyone so anyone walking by can see everything I do so I have to be careful) but making sock puppets sounds pretty harmless...and (not that anyone really cares) can you tell I took my vitamins AND had caffeine this morning? Phew!

glo said...

Great. Now I need video for sock puppets! Guys, I am struggling wth photos (although the results of this poll may end my need to continue the 'lucha' as they say in Spain.)

Sam, glad you mis-typed. Don't like tearful days, although I have some myself, occasionally.

omar said...

Luckily, I have seen the cartoon "Mucha Lucha" on the WB, so I know what that means.

glo said...

Ah-right, mi amigo! Nothing like Mucha Lucha. Only actual Spanish TV is better.

cadiz12 said...

amen to that. give me a cheesy novela about spoiled rich teens and their inane love affairs any day.

and i'd much rather keep up with the 'marcha' (as they say in spain) but sadly, i don't have enough energy.

ScroobiousScrivener said...

All these commenters, I hope you're feeling the love, Glo! I'm only going to respond to the questions that don't make me roll my eyes, here, because - well, because I can choose to do so, so there.

1: 3 - it was all that mad commenting you and Cate were spreading around the blogosphere, in a shameless yet completely successful to lure us back to yours.

2: 4, obviously.

3: rolls eyes.

4: 3 - but I still love you.

5: See Omar's response, qv.

6: rolls eyes.

7: Rosencrantz&Guildenstern are Dead/The Princess Bride/Delicatessen. I couldn't possibly choose.

8: I had my chance with all those mysterious "internet problems", remember? Yet am still here.

10: Well, I hope you did, more to the point.

omar said...

And in my efforts to corner the milestone/cool hit number market, I was also hit #4141. I'm not really expecting a prize for that though.

glo said...

Way to go! Omar's one of the coolest lucky b@#%@^^% around! (edited for the kiddies)

Is it me or did it get quiet all of the sudden?
Quick, someone come up with something random to talk about...hee.

omar said...

It's not you, sam. I was wondering the same thing!

Sarah Cate said...

BTW - just noticed that I am visitor #5000. I want a prize!

glo said...

What have you guys been doing here?! Reloading this blog every 3 seconds?! I can't keep up with all this prize giving.

I've already written 3 scrolls of reasons I love Omar. Whittling it down to post-length could take several months. Now Cate wants one!

You guys are messin' with my Statcounter (but making me feel loved, so thanks anyway).

Sarah Cate said...

Statcounter Numbers 4232 through 5000? All me. I needed something to entertain myself and I couldn't resist a challenge (You said it couldn't be done!). Most work I've had to put into suppressing the giggles in days.

I totally expect an "In Praise of Cate!" post.

omar said...

Wait a minute. AGAIN I'd call what cate did "cheating." I was legitimately #4000.

Besides, cate already got her praise post. Just a few posts ago, called "Cate is the Greatest Friend Ever!"

Greatest cheater, maybe.

Sarah Cate said...

Hey, what skills and talents we are given - we must perfect them.

Bill C said...

(1) Seems like the counter should ignore reloads.
(2) Seems like Cate simply (and properly) exploited a certain lameness in the counter.
(3) Proper exploitation != cheating.

Excuse me while I reload my way to 6000. Or something.

Bill C said...

Gaaah! I can't stand it. Cate - congratulations. You deserve a persistence award if nothing else.

glo said...

You reloaded this page over 800 times! While I admit it's very giggle-worthy (wish I'd been there to share), it just begs the need for work distraction.

BTW, you will not be rewarded by me for cheating. Although you will get a fine Harvard education and a top-notch job for your efforts.

And Jam, 40 loads is really tragic. Certainly you could have attempted at least 100. I expect better from you in the future.

Sarah Cate said...

But I don't want a fine Harvard education and a top-notch job! I want an "In Praise of Cate" post! At least 4 scrolls worth!

Kristin said...

Hey, I'm visitor 5045...whoo hoo! The high number is it's own reward...although chocolate would be appreciated :)
Can you guess which one I am on the statcounter?
::Grins::

omar said...

I am still getting my post of praise though, right?

Kristin said...

And I'm still laughing at the vole carrying Jasmine's picture...took me a while to get it...but it was worth the brain cramp :)

jazz said...

damn! i wish i didn't spend so much time in the library so i could keep up with all the witty banter that happens in the comment boxes. i always come in at the end.

i love stalking people on stat counter. i suppose it's pretty easy to do when you know one person has reloaded the page 800 times! shit!

your returning visitors percentage must be off the charts!

sam: the vole and i are engaged to me married. you'll all be invited to the wedding.

omar said...

This long absence (yes, it's only been two days) had better be because you're working on putting up pictures. Or my praise post. No other excuses. Glo withdrawal symptoms are returning.

(I think glo may be putting off posting pictures because she's afraid of what the vole might do.)

Kristin said...

Jasmine...oh goody! And excuse to shop!
What do you buy for the vole that has everything?
I know...a sock puppet?
So Glo...what's the record number of comments on your blog? Are we past it yet?

cadiz12 said...

ooh, i'm down with breaking records.

jazz, please say petco is not one of the places you two will not be registering.

glo, i'm looking forward to the sockpuppet show.

cadiz12 said...

take that accidental double negative any way you please.

jazz said...

well, you know the vole likes home improvement. we'll probably register at home depot. and of course, tiffany. and probably william sonoma. did you know the vole cooks?

Kristin said...

A vole that cooks? You lucky woman you.
All the good vole's are taken.
::sigh::

jazz said...

damned if i know ;)

Kristin said...

Is this comment #50? Or did someone beat me to it?
Either way...kewl.

Ambrrrr said...

well there's nothing new here I'm late to the party. I'm not being forced or coerced in any way and I do think you blog is funny. This also constitutes a compliment for my complimenting complimentor challenge - but really you deserve it.
